"A View of Naples through a Window", Franz Ludwig Catel

Franz Ludwig Catel worked in Rome and later traveled south to Naples. This painting presents that city´s most distinctive attraction: Mount Vesuvius, an active volcano that appears against an otherwise calm sky.
